Mister TRUCK TRIAL Karl Heinz Böhmer

15 tons, 4 axles, lots of steep scree slopes and dangers.
This is truck trial, one of the most spectacular events the motorsport scene has to present. What the spectator gets to see here, is perfect precision work of two drivers, whose giant monsters go between marker poles on nearly vertical cliffs in control. (Click on the photos!)
The brown coal in Zangtal at Voitsberg offers the best way to see these giants go to the limits of resilience to drive.
The different nature of the terrain, which most closely resembles a lunar landscape to be compared, attracts each year the elite of the European truck trial drivers to Voitsberg.
And it is Mr. Truck Trial Karl Heinz Böhmer who succeeded in making Voitsberg a fixed component in the calender of the European truck trial championship in the future.
Infected with the virus of truck trials Mr. Böhmer was already in his early childhood and in love with off-road vehicles and truck monsters.
Mister TRUCK TRIAL Karl Heinz Böhmer
Karl Heinz Böhmer: "With the fascination of off road vehicles and the driving in the terrain, my love for truck trial sport started!"
And this passion has taken until today to be a realization. Even with heavy drifting snow and frozen tracks you can find Mr. Böhmer in the area of the lignite coalfield in Zangtal, when it comes to trial runs for the European championship.
But Karl Heinz Böhmer never wanted to be a driver in the truck trial circus. He is the organizer and manager with all his heart. And so the organisation of the European championship in Voitsberg has become a full-time job for him.
Karl Heinz Böhmer: "The various car manufacturers - like in formula 1 - are keen that the experience from truck trial events can be introduced in the series production!"
Is it the monster truck itself, or is it just the sure instinct of the driver that makes the attraction of this sport. As long as there are motor-sport freaks you will find these trucks on four axels in the area of the lignite coalfield in Zangtal.
